And yet more embarrassment for Morgan in a flashback to last October when Tuku wanted to pay Rau $50,000 to stay away from Tainui’s political scene…
Tainui look to pay Rau to stay away
Tainui’s executive board is set to make its former chief executive Hemi Rau a $50,000 offer to drop his appeal and keep away from tribal politics.
The option of making Mr Rau an offer to avoid another further legal action was discussed at a Te Arataura board meeting earlier this month.
The Waikato Times understands the board would offer to pay Mr Rau up to $50,000 to drop the appeal.
If Mr Rau accepted the offer he would also be required not to seek election to the tribe’s parliament, Te Kauhanganui, and keep the details of any settlement secret.
Tainui’s representatives refused to comment.
Mr Rau was the chief executive of the tribe’s administration arm, Waikato Tainui Te Kauhanganui Inc, but was sacked by the board last year after chairman Tukoroirangi Morgan alleged he leaked information which led to a story that caused Tainui embarrassment.
Mr Rau challenged his sacking but the Employment Relations Authority rejected his grievance claim for unjustified dismissal.
In his determination, authority member Leon Robinson said Mr Rau’s actions were “contrary to his obligations of fidelity and to act in Te Kauhanganui’s best interest” and he was, therefore, justifiably dismissed.
Mr Robinson had also ordered Mr Rau to pay the tribe $15,000 in compensation.
Mr Rau’s lawyer, Karlev Crossland, confirmed an appeal had been lodged on his client’s behalf but no Tainui offer had been received as yet.
A new hearing has been set down to be heard in the Employment Court in May. The court case is likely to take about eight to 10 days.
Mr Rau was unavailable, but it is understood that he would not accept any offer.

This behaviour from Mr Morgan and Te Arataura has shown that they will stop at nothing to silence anyone. Now they are trying to infiltrate the democratic process by bhhy now. This goes to show that they are terrified of Mr Rau being elected onto the Te Kauhanganui and exposing all of their dirty deeds.

Hemi Rau is a GUILTY Traitor! In the old days he would have been beheaded for these crimes against the KINGSHIP. Tainui dont want him so he’s pushing his Tau iwi kaupapa in Otakanini Ngati Whatua. Hemi Rau is Tau Iwi orientated and cares only for MONEY. The people are irrelevent and he will spend every cent he can get his hand on, in the courts to further his GREED motivated Ideology. It is great the Tuku Morgan is a strong man and was not phased by the blind greed that Hemi Rau was trying to impose upon Tainui.

The story that I’m aware of is that CEO Rau was a major obstacle preventing Tuku Morgan and the Mari King’s easy access to Tainui’s money. The King wanted all his bills and new cars paid for by Tainui but that would have put Tainui’s charitable trust status at risk which would cost the Tainui tribe about a gazillion dollars in tax payments. So Rau said no to those guys and busted their balls. Therefore, Tuku and the King wanted Rau gone at all costs!!!!

Aue Rangatira Ngati Whatua…. the amount of hatred coming through your korero against Hemi Rau is disturbing… your allegations sound very serious, I suggest you lay a complaint with the Police and let them investigate these crimes you claim he’s committed, if they find your allegations are true they will charge him accordingly. But be warned ehoa ma, if your allegations are found to be incorrect, Hemi may counter sue you for defamation. In my experience, I have found this site to be fairly accurate in its information as it comes from a number of sources, it is then up to the reader to check for themselves whether the information is correct, thats the advantage of empowerment.

What happened Erakah? Where are you? These pages used to be compulsive reading for news about the Tainui tribe! I were at the Waahi Poukai when Tuku was walked over to the King’s tent. Huirama reckon Tuku offered his hand to the King but the King refused to shake it. Tuku also offered a half assed apology of sorts to the King. Nobody trusts that Ngangara Tuku no more. Also the King ought to get rid of that con man Rangi, thats what everybody agrees on! Ngaa mihi!
