Investigation Places Te Arataura in a Tricky Position

Financial Review Reveals the Te Arataura Committee’s Excessive Spending

A recent audit by KPMG reveals lavish spending of tribal dollars by the Te Arataura executive committee.

The investigation shows that certain officials, including the Te Arataura committee chairman Tuku Morgan, have taken several first-class and business class flights, and spent many nights enjoying lavish hotels with room service, with thousands more spent on ‘entertainment’ extras and perks with tribal money.

According to the report, it was revealed that Morgan had failed to document the spending by not recording the significance of the expenses. The investigation reports that Morgan had used tribal funds to pay for Labour politician Parekura Horomia’s stay at Hamilton’s swanky Novotel hotel when he attended the recent Iwi Leaders forum meeting held earlier in the year.

Whakapapa is the most important asset , Where are the main lines we know that they are still in existence , can tuku whakapapa back to our tupunas who chose to have a king back in 1860.can he trace to any king maker, can he direct his lineage to Hoturoa the main trunk of the tainui waka. He has no Accountability to our tupuna, He would sell them out in a heartbeat.

Only the Chiefs of that time could place our sacred lands into one body as a hole under the mantle of our King,To protect our whakapapa to protect our Tamariki to protect our people. in doing so we have protected everything that is maori including our Gods without them there is no korero. So Whakapapa has endured the land has endured and so we the people have endured. Our Tupunas did not put the lands into your hands Tuku your just as bad as Cameron with the exempt your robbing us blind.

In all that stands, I don’t think Tainui can stand much more of this. He must be in denial. And when time comes to face reality, where will he go, who will he turn to, what will be his fate? I’m waiting to hear those words, “pass the ketchup”.
