With over a decade of leadership embattlements (Justice Hammond J: Porima & Ors v TKI 2000) and the continued deterioration of our affairs case in point chairs report Jan 2012 – our incorporated society directors and governance body have taken an active role in grappling with our business affairs on a number of fronts and levels to act with jurisdiction on: constitutional matters, disciplinary employment matters and deadlocked situations with less than satisfactory returns/ results.
From a beneficiary standpoint very little sea change has occurred since the creation of our self governance system, our past troubles cited in Judge Hammonds ruling a decade ago remains valid today. It’s been proven that the use of customary resolutions to restore the tribes’ affairs hasn’t worked on the one hand because of the distinction between Maori lore and general law on the other hand it’s been about small cliques abusing their fiduciary positions.
At a glance the report offers some insights into the free-for-all behavior of the executives after Mr. Rau’s dismissal. In my eyes it would have been better to include the full KPMG financial report rather than excerpts as the3 fiscal year figures suggests millions are unaccounted for, specifically the 2012 budget is missing/already spent??? My guess is TKI were advanced 2013’s budget to operate this year’s accounts.
Time to grow up folks the teething troubles of the past 12 years was a lesson for everyone to learn from – does Waikato Tainui need another decade of systemic incompetence, a shake-up is long overdue…

The Kauhanganui members got the full coloured 65 pages report from kpmg nearly 3 weeks ago. The report from the chairwoman helped my marae make sense of the numbers and she gave the same information that she gave over a year ago. So all this time her report was correct but she got the sack from the king. We can see now why he sack her and why Tuku Morgan wanted her gone. Shameful

Kia ora Piko, please don’t lock us out the same way the CEO Ms McLean did to TKI. Flick the KPMG financial report over to erakas blog for everyone view and comment on?
