It seems that Tom Roa has been named as the new Te Arataura chairman. Lets see if he can restore some trust and honor to the executive committee, components that have been sadly lacking for years.
Tuku and Patsy won’t agree with that decision!
25 Feb. Update: We’ve since learned that Tom has been named as the INTERIM chairman for the time being.

Yes I am yet to be convince any of the elected members of TA have the BALLS to get the job done. Their first decision to listen to sour grapes from Tuku and the CEO through lawyers should have been seen for the BullSh*t that it was…
Why did the newly elected and legal officers of Te Kauhanganui have to bring such matters to their attention when there were more important matters to deal to!.
Let Tuku spout to the media and whoever else wants to listen, on his own time and with his own money until he brings another High Court Case to TKI then you may want to start to tshovel the sh*t all over him – meantime – get on with the business yesterday..
Remember TA you have your first reporting Hui to TKI on the 31st March which means all documents according to the proposed agenda (when it is determined) should go out to TKI members no later than the 8th March to ensure that members can then consult their Marae TKI beneficiaries (not just marae trust members or committees) about the decisions that need to be made – maybe including the filling of the last position.on TA!
Who says it has to be this meeting?
This situation is unprecedented so maybe for this TKI Meeting there needs to be some options circulated as to what process TKI could agree to with a timeline etc and then based on that decision the process can proceed. TA has more then enough (6 being the quorum) to get on with the job until the last person is elected..
Taking from 9am to midnight to conduct that last election went far beyond what was required – to abide by one rule and a High Court decision and indeed breaking another rule.
Take time to plan the annual meeting schedule (TKI Officers and TA) and any decisions that are required to just catch up and then also plan to get time allocated for decisions, on the schedule, that are proactive, strategic goals focused. It is not rocket science really.
ITS CALLED ACCOUNTABILITY,,TIMELY DECISION MAKING FROM A WELL INFORMED COHESIVE AND FOCUSED GOVERNANCE ORGANIZATION
A CEO who is paid over $200,000 surely can comprehend that they need to be on to it FIRST AND FOREMOST TO GET THESE MATTERS SORTED FOR HER BOSS!
Hang on maybe not!!! I went on the Tainui Website last week only to find that there is still a deceased acting CEO maybe that is the reason that things are not getting done! Then who is collecting the salary and talking to Lawyers – Patsy McClean you are a joke!YOU DO NOT FEATURE ON yOUR OWN WEBSITE – INFO IS ALL OUT OF DATE – calendar of events 2010! you need to resign YESTERDAY!
