Have we hit rock bottom yet?

Workers at AFFCO's Horotiu plant protest about cuts to wages and conditions.

As our people struggle against cold hearted bosses who would choose to lock the workers out instead of providing fair wages and conditions, the Maori king demands more of the people’s resources because $2 million per year just aint enough, apparently.

For you folks out there who don’t have a calculator that’s $40,000 per week.

Well if its true then sooner or later he needs to be shown the door. If he treats Tainui like his own little Fifedom then he has to go no question about it. What he did at the Poukai 2010 (Waikare Marae} showed his true character.

He also pissed off a few people from that Marae though no one said anything because they were too shocked, too polite and very respectful which is a shame.

What is not well known is his little dummy spit was “apparently” filmed unbeknown to most of the people there that day although that cannot be verified and I have not seen it myself. If true imagine that sort of stuff in the wrong hands, like mine and appearing on You Tube.

The Maori King displaying his great oratory skills and excellent command of the English language by eloquently telling one of his irritating subjects to fuck off. Lovely stuff aye what and that other clown Tuku daring him to sack Tania Martin.
The arrogance of these pricks using somone elses marae to launch their personal attacks on one of their own team.

Get rid of the king what a clown…….He is displaying actions typicalof one who does not know what it is like to work continuosly for living or to put bread on the table. There is a whakatauki if u dont work u shouldnt eat. As a matter of interest what was his mainstay work mahi as a bread winner in his previous life.

The key is to keep Te Kauhanganui’s economic engine churning. TKI can’t go back to the same policies that got us into this mess. We can’t go back to an economy that was weakened by greedy individuals and bad debt and phony financial profits. We’ve got to have a robust business plan that’s built to last.

I remain skeptical that we have what it takes with the current TAA “newbies” talent pool and the old guard taking into account the geopolitics involved and the likelihood of continued individual agendas.

But here again, they need to repair the damage, and find new ways of working together to fulfill a tremendous responsibility, conferred upon us by our Tupuna to protect and improve the lot of Waikato Tainui. TKI have to establish priorities.

They should know by now that, “establishing priorities” means making tough choices. TKI and it’s sub-committee have the responsibility to evaluate the annual charitable budget of the kings office to ensure we’re getting value for money – weighing the costs and benefits of his actions or inaction; and insisting on measurable results. In addition, there are ongoing repercussions and damage already done to Waikato’s reputation that requires your immediate attention Mrs. Martin and Mr. Roa. Putting the kings budget on a tight fiscal leash might be a good start…

Kia ora eraka for pointing out the reality of the struggles of our Tainui people. Over the years Affco Horotiu has employed hundreds of Tainui & Kingitanga whanau. The $2million question is what is the King of Huntly going to do to help these whanau and the many others struggling to survive day by day and have committed their lives to Kingitanga through many generations… for what? People cant be bothered attending poukai because they need to be at work to feed their whanau and pay the bills, poukai is not their priority. Thats another reason why people dont show at Kingitanga kaupapa, because they see the King flaunting his riches while they sruggle. People need to realise that Kingitanga is about the people, not about the King.

All the King needs I reckon is financial help. When you buy a flash house for 1.3million down Old Taupiri Rd line it’s driveway with the latest VW Amorak. Audi Q7, Range Rover Ltd edition, and a EVO 8 for the boy, the flash boat, not to mention the trucks parked up @ Turangawaewae, your gonna blow your budget alrite hehe. Like a boy in a candy store I say. Oh well thats our king. I didn,t expect much from a near bankrupt roading contractor. Just don’t expect me to humble down to him should he come into my presence.

Let him keep his toys but piss him off. Maybe the TKI TAA TGH and all the other bullshit acronyms Tainui has saddled itself with have got no balls bro. Facts need to be faced this clown has to go. Could not agree more. Tainui should not just be a charity for those who have been helping themselves. It should also be looking more at how to create more jobs for our own people.

When it was suggested to Tuku that the environmental proposal to clean up farms and other outlets discharging waste into the rivers could generate up to 200 permanent jobs he was not interested. The WIIFM program and that was never going to happen. What a laugh!

This is a crackup. What we are observing is the demise of the kingitanga. As soon as it became about the individual that was the end. Dont forget the kingitanga isnt tainuis its for all iwi if we cant handleit it should go elsewhere or die. The closest thing to it is the teheuheus but i dont think thats the best either.

I would like to know how the hell this guy able to get away with this crap! Just because he is the King of Huntly a thriving industrial metropolis this side of the black swamp near bug tussle this cheeky bastard is robbing Tainui blind and getting away with it because he is a fake relation of the so called Kingi whats its name the IWI that was not an IWI before 1946. Wake up people.

    The Waikato-Times writes:
‘Huntly. Welfare town. On paper it’s a terrible place. Dead bottom & 10 out of 10 on the deprivation scale, worse than Meremere, worse than Ngaruawahia, worse even than living across the river in Huntly East’.

But there is one family & their hangers-on that live very nicely thank you.

Recently he has demanded & was given land & office space at Ruakura. Where lessees of buildings & land have had to give up some of their space (causing a reduction in rental income to TGH) so that every whim & demand made by Tuheitia Paki is catered for. The decisions & actions of sub-committee members, Patsy McLean & & TGH to cater to Paki’s demands is not in accordance with what is just or reasonable.

So now the Aratura Chair decides to speak out in favor of the Horotiu Affco workers, why now Mr Roa, when you knew some time ago that times were hard for these whanau. Show that you really care Mr Roa, allow our struggling Affco whanau to receive hardship grants to help pay their bills and put kai on their tables. Ask Rahui to help you, he knows all about getting access to tribal funds without going through the proper channels.

2006 was the breaking of the very foundations of the Kingitanga so having done that those who are controlling you strategize to maintain control. They know they have to behave for a little while believing they have dealt with the people in what is another false dawn. The sorting out isn’t one! So your going to get more of the same but first a little something that will seem like everything is changing for the better. To choose to believe its all going to get better while what has happened shows it can not and will only be worse gives more time to do more damage, Half sorted gives permission for more of the same. What deals have been made to keep the status quo? Why has this been accepted? Inside yourself you know. Why has everyone gone back for more of the same.

How is this for stink. Helen Kotua throwing out my poor cuz – Bussy. My cuz took out a loan to help Helen the dyke pay her bills – stood guarantor on her house which she doesnt pay and looses her house and then gets the king to buy her a new house and she moves out and gets Bussy the boot out of her place who is now homeless after sponging off her for years and leaves her with the debt collectors calling. The dyke now has all her other lezzie mates move in and wonders why we all cant stand her – using our cuz and bludging of the King. I hear she just got back from Hawaii on another bludge holiday on the kings purse. Sack her I say – she has no moral integrity and shouldn’t be around our King!

The fact is King Tuheitia is not up to the job. He lacks mana ,dignity and is a gang of one. His late mother would never have used the f-word abusing members of the tribe like he did at Waikare Marae and the day he did that he lost my vote.

The overly political hierarchical structure and power struggles within Tainui are being bought to a head and challenged by Tania Martin a 50 yr old grandmother who has got more balls then the guys.

Like a true whistle blower she is being crucified by gutless cowards and if the cap fits wear it mate because while I may not necessarily agree with Tania Martins methods the other side are playing pretty dirty as well.

My respect and aroha to our lady as well but she had it a lot easier. she had very strong kaumaatua and advisers around her our King does not have that wisdom around him. He is learning the trade through fire and ice. hence, he will be tested and refined into a leader. there are those who choose to be patient and those who prefer to be judgemental. No, that was not nice what happened at Waikare marae but sometimes there is more to it than what we see. As for Tania Martin, she had her fame, her days are numbered as was tuku’s. but I think tuku will come out better than her. all she will be remembered for is someone who disrespected the king. all those who “got on the band wagon” and supported her will also turn their backs on her because that is how false and dishonest our people are.

what a pack of sad arses. reveal yourselves. if you feel so strongly about it then go public. Hide behind eraka blogs skirt. dumb arses!. He’s a King! He’s done nothing for me either but he is our king instituted by our tupuna who were great men! I respect that. When you thing of being a king, the 2 mill to me is peanuts. in other nations he is treated and respected like a king! we treat him like shit. shame on us. now is the hardest time ever to be a king. people are trying to position themselves. everyone is so self righteous and looking for faults except there own faults. but this will only make him strong and wise for the future.

No one is hiding behind Eraka’s blog. Everyone at every opportunity publically announced in panui to come along and speak up does to discover the agenda/programme is changed on them and they are then intimidated, suppressed and afterwards the propaganda machine announces the PR version. I suggest you talk to the elders if you are not truly informed as to what is happening and who is who then go to your Tupuna, look inside yourself for the truth, it is not the same as what is being promoted by the PR machine

At least you speak with some facts “sam the man”. There is a certain dignity in what you say. But I can not say the same about others. Some of their trash talk is just fuelled by ignorance and self righteousness. I don’t know of any PR machine all I know is what the “kingitanga” was founded on and what our tupuna had envisaged for us. Simply for me, it was to protect us and empower us. Putting aside all the “financial issues” I believe this is so (again, not that I receive much benefits personally, well not directly) but I know others do benefit (marae, education, kaumatua etc). Pakeha and non maori businesses love to hear our raruraru because Tainui is as strong or even stronger than most businesses in the region and because of that have great influence as well. They fear us greatly and would love to see our demise. If there is no king, there is no kingitanga and no vision for Tainui, and we would (ALL) surely be living in the distitute state that KIngi Tawhiao fought us out off. Nga mihi

Mate The King openly admitted he had no vision, made his first stab at in in 2010 and did attempt to abdicate in 2007. I know TeManawa was asked to become our Queen back then, she has had the vision for the people all along. The Kingitanga is safe without this King. Go ask your elders about the restoration.

My elders don’t know anything about the restoration. Obviously you are privy to info (dirt) that my people are not privy too. And who is TeManawa. You must be closer to the central hub of goss than I am. Sometimes it is better to be away from the goss so that you can judge fairly otherwise you have a very bias opinion about what appears to be. 2007 and, even 2010 was a long time ago. I know i have changed a lot since then. and even two years from now is a long time and I will have changed a lot more again. Sam the man, you need to stop talking to your elders and try and judge people how you would want people to judge you. I hear all the goss on tv and the newspaper too. But I think its all crap because media like stirring and non maori love to hear our failings. And our people are not all that either. We as maori have lost the greater values of honour, respect, integrity, charity to one another. Yes the king has faults but I look at my people first and say, “who are you to judge”. Clean your own act up!
