Tainui Games 2014

In order to make the people feel like they’re being looked after the Tainui Games is upon us again this coming summer. Really, is that it? The people ought to get more than just a silly Tainui Games every 2 years, a whole lot more. In the meantime millions of your dollars goes to the king & Tuku’s croanies and the Auckland lawyers.

Its another sick joke that gets played out over and over again. Where is the real development that you deserve?

The Tainui Games are awesome – everyone from rangatahi to kaumaatua, whaanau and Marae coming together in a spirit of friendly competition and tribal pride. what are you on about? Sponsors pay for most of it. If the tribe put some real money in they could be huge – combine it with a concert on the Saturday night and you could have an amazing event. It’s what the tribe should be investing in, and more. Ngati Porou have had their settlement for five minutes and they’ve already negotiated a telecoms agreement with 2 Degrees that links up all their pan tribal organisations and Marae (and individual tribal members with a 2 Degrees account) with cheap broadband plans. Five percent of the total spend then gets donated back to a tribal fund that is going to be used to fund rangatahi and information technology capacity building. That’s what an Iwi organisation should be doing. Among other things. What great thing has Te Arataura done for tribal members over the past 18 months tha’s actually made a difference in the lives of 64,000 tribal members? Many Waikato Marae don’t even broadband access and those that do pay for it themselves at market rates. How much buying power would 68 Marae and 64,000 tribal members represent? The tragedy is that no-one seems capable of thinking about even little things that would make a difference. Given that, thank god for the Games…

http://www.gisborneherald.co.nz/opinion/letter/?id=32112 This shows how not everything is good on that side of the country. Ngati Uepohatu have had their identity and assets stripped from the corporate iwi trust board. http://www2.justice.govt.nz/ministerial-review/documents/submissions/4-64-1,+4-64-2+Sue+Nikora.pdf. This has also happened here in Waikato. But we have become so brainwashed by the corporate propaganda that we have forgotten who we are and what our history is.

Nothing has really changed and that Kingi did inherit the bad genes from Whatihua -a prolific theif known in Tainui history for stealling all the time whether it be wives or admiration. We see it again with the theiving off hapu, marae, and tupuna identity for treaty claims and deals with corporations or personal gain. And noted in the Land Wars in which a number of double cross deals were done by the Kingi against the best interest of the people. Hence the slaughter of Waikato people and land confiscations. Whilst the Kingi did not get punnished at all. Infact rewarded. Evelyn Stokes writes in her book on Wiremu Tamihana how the establishiment of the Kingitanga violated theTreaty relationship and participated in the looting of property of natives who sort the Crowns protection.

Are we now Ngati Corporation? I see on the Waikato Tainui website the hero worship to corporations who have done damage to our hapu and whanau by advertising them in scholarships as if they were our tipuna. What a disgrace!

The mere fact that our tipuna history is displaced by kingitanga propaganda shows how fcked we are. It is like all hapu and whanau dont exist in Waikato, and have become faceless nobodies.

Its been 7 years since Maori Kingi Tuheitia was appointed, where is the FRUITS of KAI provisions & HOUSING for the HOMELESS amongst Tainui and Maoridom followers of te Kingitanga?? Many Maori are still LIVING in poverty in this modern age. If the FRUITS are not being seen then the question is asked, was the battern PASSED ON to someone else at his mother Te Atairangi’s Kahu’s Tangihana?? This message from a Mokopuna o Te Paea from Te Arawa into te Kingitanga.
